A ridiculous parody based on the 1978 pornographic film Debbie Does Dallas. The musical, like the movie, centers around high schooler Debbie and her friends' attempts to become Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders; however, unlike the original movie, the musical does not contain any actual sex or nudity.
There is no pay.
Auditions:
Sunday, September 12th - 1:30-6:00pm
Callbacks:
Thursday Sept 16th at 6:00pm (by invitation only)
Preparation:
Bring headshot, resume, 16-32 bars of sheet music in your key
(an accompanist will be provided). CD is OK but not preferred.
Be prepared to move (some roles will dance, most will move)
Rehearsals:
Begin on Mon, Sept 20th, 2010;
Generally Mon-Thurs 7-10:30pm and some Sundays 6-9pm.
Performances:
November 5th – 21st, 2010.
(Fridays & Saturday evenings at 8pm, Saturday Matinees at 4pm)
(NO NUDITY REQUIRED; minimal clothing at times, strong sexual interaction & simulated masturbation)
Debbie Benton – (LEAD) Small town girl with big city dreams. Must sing and cheer well.
Lisa – School slut, steals Rick from Debbie using sex. Must cheer well.
Roberta – The most naïve and the first to lose her virginity. Must cheer well.
Donna – She is thoughtful and smart. Must cheer well.
Tammy – A young Hillary Clinton, a prude. Must cheer well.
We will cast 5-8 males to fill the roles detailed below:
Rick - An all-american high school guy; Must sing well.
Hamilton – A young tennis pro
Bigtime - Owner of the Dallas Cowboys.
Mr. Greenfelt - Lonely owner of local sporting good store.
Mr. Biddle - Reserved high school librarian
Kevin - High school jock.
Mr. Hardwick - Swinging candle shop owner; must sing well.
Mr. Bradley - High school Spanish teacher with accent
Ashley - Rich and snobbish.
Nick - Nerdy record store clerk.
Johnny - High school jock.
Tim - Shy, soft-spoken and sweet.
All ethnicities welcomed.
